Support Groups

Our support groups are a great opportunity for peer-to-peer exchange and support. They are hosted by one or two professionals who create a non-judgmental environment where group members can share their difficulties, successes and opinions freely and respectfully.

They take place over a period of several meetings, one per month (one in English and one in French), lasting 1h30. Each month, discussions are based on one of the themes chosen by the group during the first meeting. (for example: managing emotions, triggers, managing cravings…).

The main objectives of the support groups are to

  • encourage members to help each other,
  • reduce social isolation
  • create a non-judgmental environment where group members can share their difficulties, successes and opinions freely and respectfully

Groups are made up of 8 to 10 people and take place at CLSC Métro, by registration only. Individual counselling is not a prerequisite for participation.
