Before the COVID-19 pandemic, individual meetings could take place at home or in a public place. With the pandemic, we’ve adapted our services and they are now offered over the phone.

Vaccination allowed us to meet in person again, but we will keep the option to receive our services by phone.

The Counselling program what is it?

This service is intended for anyone aged 55 years old and over wishing to improve their living conditions by working on their consumption of substances. (Alcohol, medications, etc.). This work is done with a Groupe Harmonie counsellor.
Our organizations support the humanistic approach, the proximity principle, and the harm reduction approach. With these principles, we believe we can work with you towards achieving your goals.
The frequency of the meetings can be determined with your counsellor. The meetings can be held once every week or once every 2 weeks.
To clearly identify your objectives, an intervention plan will be established within the first weeks of the counselling program. The intervention plan can be reviewed regularly.

Your Rights:

You’ve got freedom. Groupe Harmonie will not exercise any judgement and will not obligate you to take any kind of actions. You have the right to end the counselling program at any time.
Groupe Harmonie reserves the right to stop any counselling follow-up at any time. The reasons of the termination will be shared with you.
You have the right to request a modification to your intervention plan.
Groupe Harmonie value your privacy and confidentiality. Information with solely be shared within clinical meetings intended for the counsellors.

Your Responsibilities:

You must demonstrate willingness to work on your substance use.
Groupe Harmonie expects you to be as sober as possible during your meetings. Total sobriety at meetings may be required depending on the situation.
Any threats, insults or discriminatory statements towards a Groupe Harmonie employee is strictly prohibited. These actions will automatically lead to a suspension of the follow-up which could possibly be resumed only after an interview with the intervention services coordinator of Groupe Harmonie.
