Groupe Harmonie is still the only organization in Quebec with this specific mission. This service is intended for anyone over 55 who wants to improve their living conditions by working on their substance use (alcohol, medication, drugs, etc.). This work is done with a Groupe Harmonie counsellor. The frequency of meetings varies according to the needs of the individual.
We offer several types of meetings settings. We can offer sessions in the person's home, at a location in or around the Peter McGill area, in our offices and by videoconference. The frequency, location and duration of meetings will be agreed with your counsellor.
We offer individual support based on a humanistic, harm-reduction approach. We work as a team with each person we help, considering them experts of their own experience. The person's goals, needs and interests are put first.
With acceptance and empathy attitude of our caregivers, the insights that emerge from our participants lead to changes not only in their consumption, but also in their lifestyles.
The GH maintains the strictest confidentiality. Situations can be discussed at clinical meetings dedicated to GH staff and nowhere else.
